Sher Olson's Barn Buddies & Workin' Partners We all share our 35 acre home, in Deer Trail CO
"Bonnie Jean RMT" Border Collie (a Ghost Merle, shade called Sable & White), registered CKC, ASDR & WCDR. Pics at 7 mths (sticking her tongue out!) and 1 yr old. Bonnie helps her "siblings" bring in the livestock, as well as the important job of "cuddle bunny". She is Star's # 1 ruff-n-tumble play buddy, too. She goes everywhere with us - work days, camping trips, you name it.

"Shining Star SH" an Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler), registered CKC, ASDR & WCDR. Pictures at 1 mth, 5 mth, 1 yr, 2 yrs old (playing with her "siblings".) Heelers are strong willed work dogs. Her # 1 job is all around companion pup, family protector, plus she helps in herding our livestock in from pasture. She also goes everywhere with her "siblings" Bonnie, Katie & Laddie.

"Kiowa" or "Ki" for short ... grade Welsh/Shetland pony mare, 9 yrs old, 11.2 hands. She is trained for hand led saddle rides, also bit'n'bridle for trails. She lends a hoof in our family pony ride business, plus gives riding lessons.
"Lucky Lil Laddie RMT" Border Collie (unusual Blue Merle Tri, with blue eyes), registered ABCA, ASDR, CKC. Pics as a 2 mth old, 2 yr old. Border Collies have strong working instincts & need an active lifestyle! Laddie is such a handsome boy! His momma's pride n' joy! :-) He's not really as huge as the picture on my lap - that's a camera illusion! :-)

"Morning Mist" grade QuarterHorse/Arabian mare, 19 yrs old, 13.3 hands. That is Misty and 5' tall me, in the first photo - I'm playing with her ears as the ol' girl "puts up" with my antics. :-) She is a very reliable, very calm trail horse. A great little girl! She is a great "babysitter" on the trails for our guests 150 lbs or less. She helps out in the family pony ride business even, giving rides for the older kids too big for the little Welsh-Shetland pony "Kiowa". The perfect all around family horse!

"Bonnie Bree" short haired Border Collie (Black & White), registered ABCA Pics as a 4 mth old, and 1 yr old. Helping "ranch hand", and play time buddy to the others in our canine crew!

"Ginger Snap" grade Miniature horse mare, 4 yrs old, 7.2 hands. Ginger comes to birthday parties, where the kids brush and decorate her with barrettes - she loves it! Ginger would sit in one's lap, if she could talk you into it. :-)
"EllieMae Clampett" grade Haflinger mare, 14 yrs old, 13.2 hands. Ellie is a very experienced trail horse, if somewhat "opinionated". :-) She is short & built like a "bull dog" - very drafty conformation (muscular.) She has packed elk, been driven in cart, been a pre-teen's trail horse in the mountains - and now is my # 1 trail buddy! :-)

(left two) These pictures (left) - EllieMae has come back in full health. Here we are on a back country camping trip August 2009. Rode to the top of the Continental Divide! :-)

(left) This photo was taken about 2 mths after Ellie arrived. Ellie came home very thin, due to lack of feeding at prior owner's. (Our vet rated her a 2 on the 1-10 body scoring scale.) Ellie has come a long ways!

"Amika" aka Mickey - registered American Haflinger Registry # 1110-84 ... 25 yrs old, 13.3 hands. Before our home, he was with the same family for 20 years - his owner was given when she was a child, and he was her HunterJumper pony, they did parades, and tons of trail riding. With her 6th daughter on the way, and none of her girls really into horses, she allowed me to adopt Mickey. I'm looking forward to spending trail time with my little man! :-)

"Muffins MSC" aka Muffin - registered American Haflinger Registry # 2774-89 ... 20 yrs old, 14.1hands. Before our home, she was a trail riding mount, and broodmare. Muffin was Amish trained - she has arthritis in all four, and so is only for light riders, and short trails at an easy walk. She came to us from the same owner as Mickey, who allowed me to adopt Muffin, too. :-)
